Sure, the driver matters. If the car sputters every time you hit the gas, though, you're likely to finish last no matter how skilled you are. If the cards were cars, the Mach 5 let Speed down this week. Every time it looked like he had a chance to catch up, he paid the price for accelerating, which meant a big loss and the loser's trophy. Speed's big brother, Racer X (your Padre), finished first with the Dude not far behind in his Batmobile; they played well but also had some very good cards. A three dollar nitro derelict surge gave the Intimidator a positive finish. The driver matters, but sometimes the race conditions are too much to overcome. Then, it's time to prepare for the next stop on the circuit.
