There was a guest but no "parachute" as Our (Mohican) Guest had good cards and played them well enough; he finished a respectable second at five up. The night's big winner, Choo-choo, was in first even before collecting a three dollar derelict pot; she finished the big winner at nine up. Bad beats are a normal part of every game, but this week seemed unusually painful. A number of regulars commented on how often great starting cards turned into punishing traps. The newly dethroned Pirate-King-turned-Cabin-Boy, Speed, suffered the indignity of a fifteen dollar loss but took it with grace. He'll host Mr. T for a week and see Ray Gun take over first on the chart. The Train suggested sending Speed to share his acerbic wit with the AIPC North crew, but truth be told, his verbal "flow" was entertaining but always sportsmanlike. Once again, a good time was had by all. (Also, one of your Padre's predictions is coming true. Check out Mitch's climb up the chart!)
