They rolled. Six other regulars made their way through the snow to the Padre's place for a night of Jambalaya, King Cake shipped from New Orleans, and a Mardi Gras music mix. Some kind of voodoo kept many boards and many winning hands remarkably weak, and the overall improvement in play among the regulars kept the final wins and losses respectably close. Rico returned and finished first at just six up. Only two players ended in the red: Doc and the Dude, at nine and ten down respectively. The trophy was not in play, but the two dollar derelict pot doubled the meager win the evening's host had spent the night grinding out. A good time was had by all. Mardi Gras is over, but your Padre recommends giving up boring Tuesdays for Lent, so—see you at the table!
