First Time In "The Rug Room"
Per host, The Dude: "There were alot of hands played and alot of big hands including the good Doctor's straight flush over the Galactic Derelict's boat, and Speed's quad Aces in Omaha! All four regulars finished positive with the Doctor topping the list with a three dollar win! Our guest, the mohican, financed the wins with his eight dollar loss after winning the two dollar derelict hand. The trophy remains hidden in the Dude's poker room until next week."

It's WIN-conceivable!
How?! On a night when two of the six players were guests, the pots were, again and again, very large, but, somehow, going into the derelict hand, the "big" winner was two dollars up and the "big" loser was five down. The two-dollar derelict pot made Choo-choo the top finisher at just three dollars up. Three. The best cards of the night were without question Our (Martian) Guest's, but the same erratic betting that made him hard to read left his bucket bottomless; after going ten on, he gained and gave back a huge stack, making the absent loser's trophy even less relevant. After all that excitement, that close a finish? Everyone wins.

Rockin' on the Rollercoaster : Game 19
Six regulars and a guest clambered onto the rollercoaster to a raucous guitar soundtrack. Last week's trophy winner took first, and last week's first place winner trophied. The night saw very large pots, and most of that money went to the Dude, who finished up fourteen, and Uncle Rico, who finished up twelve. Speed squealed delightedly when his loss was cut in half by a three dollar derelict win, but the good doctor's cards made him queasy all night and stuck him with the loser's trophy. Rock on, rollercoaster riders. It's Season 2026.

¡Ay, Caramba!
Who knew you could have so much fun contesting less than $2.50 an hour? Cinco de Mayo on the deck was a great time, and everyone finished close together, with the Good Doctor up seven, the Dude down nine, and everyone else in between. (The Dude flopped a straight flush, but his cards were overall muy malo.) The Counselor, who supplied a fine Mexican libation, returned for one night and finished even. ¡Vaya con Dios!

Ka-aaaaaahhh-ndo!
(Edit: The night's winner believes he was "persuaded" to accept an extra five dollars that his own calculations do not justify. He insists on giving it back. I am reluctantly adjusting the chart at his insistence. This late, without proof of what happened and just assuming that Mitch's numbers are correct, I don't think it's right to guess at the source of the discrepancy. It was an unusual night with a great deal going on, so we can reasonably hope we're not seeing a return to the days of sloppy win/loss tracking. In the future, we will continue to be careful and attempt to resolve any doubts we have at the end of the game. You're a good man, Mitch Barnes. Now, when you take first on the chart, you can glory in your win without qualms. —Your Padre)

Our host, the Good Doctor, was the hero of the night even before suggesting that the Kando game become an annual event. No one let him win, but at least there was no trophy present. Mitch "I'm-twenty-on-but-won-too-much-to-track-accurately" Barnes was our big winner. (Check out his unprecedented position on the chart!) Everyone else blissfully enjoying the night was within single digits of even. Speed took the two dollar derelict pot. The food and drinks were incredible, and the staff was so smooth that within two minutes of the group (ahem, Padre) elbowing a glass off a side table, the staff broke one in sympathy. Cigars. Cocktails. Wagyu. Lobster. Caviar. Sandos. Nama dogs... Thank you, Kando. Thank you, Doc!
